About the Album:
When we scored the CTV series Number One West, we recorded this album in Winnipeg, releasing it in 1987.  Brian Sklar's reason for choosing the name Number One West was the simple fact that anyone traveling the Trans-Canada Highway saw that sign every few kilometers...even if they were traveling east, it was a reminder of the show's name. Graphic designer Willard Ahenakew designed the Number One West logo, seen on the cover. Sandra Halldorson-Pulles handled the color sep cuts, but the record pressing company still managed to screw up the colors on the cover. The Highway sign is supposed to be green and white, like a normal Number One West sign. But once the albums were shipped, we were stuck selling them as is, and the album actually did quite well. The song '57 went to number 5 on the American Cashbox Indie Chart, due to some serious promotion by Glenn Fraser.
