About the Album:
This album was NOT Recorded live at the Calgary Stampede in the Golden Garter Saloon, but it does feature our most requested show tunes, as performed at the Garter. We went into the studio and recorded the album in one pass, live off the floor, so you get the same product that the people at the Garter enjoyed for 24 consecutive years. This one was voted album of the year in 1993. It remains our most popular album, when we are on tour, because people always ask for the tunes they just saw in our stage performance, no matter where we play.

One tune on the album, West Coast Flyer, was previously recorded by Bart McKay, using sequenced drums. He also played the piano parts...a brilliant job. Before we released the album, we recorded a live drum track so that it would be authentic. Rod did some great guitar work on the project. He is currently playing with Dierks Bentley...one of six Prairie Fire Band alumni working with major US artists.
